Frequently Asked Questions

What does the therapy process here look like?

As a first step, you can call us (267-551-1984) or email us (contact@centerforcbt.net) or use the contact us form on this website to reach out.  Once we receive your inquiry, we will call you for a 10-minute consultation call to determine whether there is someone in our practice who is an excellent fit for you or your child.  If we do, we'll go ahead and schedule you or put you on our waitlist.  If we don't have anyone who is an excellent fit for you or your child, we'll do our best to point you in the right direction.

Once your appointment is scheduled, we'll send you intake paperwork by email to fill out in advance of your first session so that you don't need to spend your session time doing paperwork.  Then, we will proceed with your intake evaluation, which is typically one hour in length.  During the intake, you'll collaborate with your therapist to develop specific treatment goals.  The therapist will then develop an evidence-based treatment plan based on what the research tells us is the most efficient way to get to those goals.  Weekly sessions (typically 45-minutes) will follow that treatment plan and your therapist will continually track progress toward your goals with you.  Once treatment goals are met, you'll graduate from treatment with a full tool belt of strategies that you can use going forward to maintain progress.

Do you accept insurance?

We are out of network providers; our patients pay at the time of their session and then, at the end of the month, we send them an insurance-ready receipt by email.  Regardless of what kind of insurance they have, if they have out of network benefits for therapy, their insurance company sends them a check directly to reimburse them for whatever part of the treatment cost (if any) they cover.

What is the cost?

Our therapy rates are $295 for hour-long sessions and $250 for 45-minute long sessions. Session length depends on presenting problem and treatment plan, which would be discussed/agreed upon during the initial evaluation).  ADHD evaluations are $3000 and Autism evaluations are $5000.  The cost for learning disorder evaluations, IQ testing (including private school admission testing), and achievement testing range from $1500 - $3000 (the exact price will be determined during your initial consultation call with one of our evaluation specialists).

Do you have current availability?

For therapy, we typically have a waitlist; however, given that our treatments are time-limited, we are graduating existing patients often.  From time to time, we do have immediate availability for therapy.  For ADHD and Autism assessments/evaluations, we can often squeeze people in right away, given the short-term nature of psychological testing.

Do you offer teletherapy?

We offer the options of virtual therapy and in-person therapy.  Each option has pros/cons; if you're torn between the two, your therapist can work with you to determine which option will work best for your specific treatment plan.
